Twitter in plain English

CommonCraft released a wonderful 2 1/2 minute video that explains:

  • What the heck is Twitter?
  • Why would ordinary people (read non-geeks) like to use it?
  • What that person tapping on their mobile phone might actually be doing

Best of all, this video’s got nothing to sell you.  Perhaps that’s why it’s so persuasive. I wonder if CommonCraft has ever thought of partnering with agencies looking to explain complex processes to prospective clients in the early stages of decision-making? There’s something about their animatics that is quite compelling.

  1. Postscript: While I didn’t see any agency work, CommonCraft has in fact teamed with corporate clients like Microsoft Live, Google Apps, LinkedIn and Meetup. Given the new direction creative directors are taking with high-tech, high-touch products – Google launching Chrome with a comic book by legend Scott McCloud – this makes good business sense.
